Who do we work with?
Our Psychoeducational and ADHD assessments are provided for children, adolescents and adults.
Psychoeducational assessments are typically provided when
individuals are experiencing more difficulty than might be expected in academic environments. Clients and/or
families we serve are often questioning whether or not a learning disability is impacting upon daily functioning.
ADHD Assessments are requested when there are questions about attention, impulsivity, and/or restless behavior. Our practice specializes in the identification of ADHD. A comprehensive diagnostic process is necessary to differentiate between ADHD and other possible confounding factors that may include environmental circumstances, anxiety, mood and learning challenges. Our ADHD Assessments generally follow the same process as our psychoeducational assessments, but also closely examine symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity and whether these symptoms are causing impairment that is interfering with daily functioning in home, school and/or work environments.

Remediation |
1. Assessment: We identify cognitive (thinking and reasoning), academic and behavioral strengths and needs in order to understand an individual's learning and behavioral profile.
2. Education: Once we identify strengths and needs, our job is to inform and educate. When a diagnosis is made we strive to ensure that clients, their families and individuals working closely with the client are educated about the diagnosis. We explain why the diagnosis has been provided and the criteria associated with the diagnosis. We also provide reading material, websites, and names of organizations that may be helpful when seeking additional information.
3. Advocacy:
We emphasize the importance of advocacy. Advocacy is speaking up for, or acting on
behalf of, yourself or another person. An effective advocate is able to recognise skills and
strengths and obtain help in required areas. We promote advocacy by providing information
about your possible next steps and help in the decision making process.
What does the assessment consist of?
We pride ourselves on the quality and comprehensiveness of our assessments and reports. Clients can expect to spend 8-10 hours in the one-on-one assessment process.
We believe that assessments should lead to the empowerment of clients and to an improved quality of life for clients and their families. With understanding the potential to learn is limitless.
